Breakfast: Best Way to Start the Day or Skip it?
** Including 7 Cozy and Easy Breakfast Recipes for Your Family **
Are you a breakfast lover? Or are you someone who skips that early morning meal in favor of fasting - whether by choice or maybe you’re just too busy and never have the time? 😜

As with many health-related topics, the issue of whether to eat breakfast or skip it can seem controversial. For every health professional that claims you should eat breakfast, you can find someone advocating for a fast that skips it.
And honestly, it doesn't need to be that complicated…it really comes down to the individual person. I know that seems like a cop out on my part but it’s true.
After working with various clients who have very different lifestyles, goals, nutritional needs and metabolism, it became clear to me very quickly that there is no one-size-fits all diet or lifestyle that will make everyone healthy and happy. Although there are some tips and habits that everyone can follow and implement to improve their nutrition and create a healthy lifestyle (Check those out in my last blog post).
It’s really about what works for you and your individual health goals. But overall, I believe the majority of people should be starting their day off with breakfast.
For years I was a big supporter of always eating breakfast. Personally, I could never skip the meal and I only knew of the research that supported starting your day with a diverse meal full of healthy fats, carbs and protein. I knew this helped to jumpstart my digestion and fuel my body, giving me energy to start the day.
However, in the past year I have read and researched more about intermittent fasting, its benefits and even tried it myself. This meant I had to give up my breakfasts (and dealt with the hangry pains!) to try something new. After a couple days my body adjusted and I definitely saw a small benefit for my own personal health goals. However, long-term I am definitely on TEAM BREAKFAST!
All this to say that nutrition is unique and what works for one person may not work for another. And it’s ok to switch things up and try different routines for yourself as well. Our bodies evolve, change and have different needs as we age so you should always be evaluating your healthy lifestyle.
I find a lot of my clients struggle with finding new and easy breakfast recipes for their family. Many rely on the quick fix of a bowl of cereal and honestly - that’s not going to give you the proper nutrients you need to sustain you (or your kids) through lunch.
