If you’re new around here or haven’t figured it out yet - I’m all about balance as a holistic nutritionist. An all or nothing mentality will only set you up for failure, which will lead to you getting discouraged and possibly giving up on your healthy nutrition plan. And I don’t want to see that happen!
As I talked about in my last blog post, the holiday season can be difficult for a lot of people who are trying to maintain their health. Sometimes we look at all the overindulgent food and think that by enjoying these celebratory foods with family and friends, well then…why even bother eating healthy during the holiday season? It’s not going to matter, right?
If we follow the 80/20 rule and focus on eating healthy the majority of our week, then the tasty holiday treats at the office party or the family get together will not sabotage the majority of our healthy eating. That’s why a weekly meal plan and making time for a Sunday meal prep session has been so beneficial to my personal routine. And remember - life is about balance and enjoying food! Don’t get caught up in the food you ate at one holiday party. It’s all about the healthy habits you follow day in and day out.
